Bought this for occasional use as a guest bed. The mattress is anything
but supportive and the metal mesh which it lays on just makes things
even worse. I only weigh 152 pounds and I just absolutely sink into this
contraption. Don't let the "made in Italy" fool you. It may have well
been made in Tiawan. Don't waste your money on this thing.
was well pleased with roll Away folding guest bed. I got it
for my 6 year old grandson to sleep on when he visits. It was
exactly what I expected to get from the picture to I reviewed
before ordering.
I searched for a while to find a fold up bed, and had a hard time
finding a good one; I am 21 years old and going to be getting spine
surgery within the next month or so, and needed a bed for downstairs
because I would not be able to go up and down the steps, my dilemma was
that a lot of the other beds were so close to the ground and i needed
one that was higher off of the ground.
Nonetheless, this bed is
AMAZING, it feels like I'm sleeping on a cloud, I haven't been able to
sleep a full night in over a year and a half, and when I slept on this
bed, I've never been so comfortable and relaxed. I made everyone in my
family lay on it and none of them wanted to get off! Great deal, it came
with a nice black bag too for storage, good distance off of the ground,
very reasonably priced, and EXTREMELY comfortable; I highly recommend
this bed to anyone looking!!
Needed a fold away storage option, for our guest accommodations. My
mother-in-law said it was the one of her better nights of rest... the
memory foam is firm, but giving. I've rested on it and gotta say, it's
just super comfortable. We bought this folding bed in March, 2012, primarily for a relative who
visits us for a few days several times a year. She's in her late 60s,
arthritic, weighs about 200 lbs, and sleeps very well on it; says she
loves it. I think this bed was recently redesigned.
Ours is
designed without wheels or provisions for them. They are not needed at
all so the bed stays put and doesn't tend to move around as much as a
wheeled bed. It is surprisingly lightweight, very easy to carry,
assembles and folds up with no hassle. Comes with a well-made,
tight-fitting, zippered, complete wrap-around cover that keeps out dust
while in storage. The cover has a handle for carrying. To properly fold
up the bed, one has to place the mattress (folded in half) with the
unfolded open ends pushed completely down over the center bar. There's a
substantial rubber retaining strap to hold the top of the folded frame
and mattress together.
Another nice feature is that, when set up,
the bed stands a few inches higher from the floor than most others,
making it a lot easier to get in and out of. Although some reviewers
mentioned poor fit of linens, our sheets and blankets tuck under the
foam mattress all around on the one we received; perhaps a result of the
redesign.
I shopped around for others, but found this to be a great folding bed as well as a fine value. We're very glad we bought this.
My wife and I are expecting our first child soon, and wanted something
for our small townhouse that our mothers could sleep on when they visit.
After reading other reviews, we decided to try this out, and also
after reading reviews found it online at costco for $150. I called our
local costco and they had it in stock - for $90, saving us 55% off the
$200 price here. Call your local costco if you are interested in this
item, save the money and if you don't like it returns are a breeze.
I'll update this review after our mothers have given it a thorough test
ride. For now I'm giving it 4 stars since the frame could be a little
stronger.
This bed is very cozy. But it needs a board under the mattress for more
support because it tends to sag a bit. I can't imagine a very large
person being comfortable in it because it is narrow. But my daughter
said she slept well, just needed a little more support in the middle.
The hideaway comfort revolution has several good points: the mattress is
soft and comfortable, the frame doesn't squeak during use, the
structure is light, and it could probably slide easily under most beds
for storage. The big drawback for me was that the canvas part attached
to the frame, on which the memory foam mattress sits, sags once you
climb in. It is much more like a hammock rather than the customary flat
bed. I woke up with some minor lower back pain. I tried the mattress
by itself on the floor and was pain-free in the morning, so it seems
like the sag was related to the lower back pain rather than the mattress
or some other feature. Also, I personally don't find the "sag effect,"
with the sleeper sinking into the middle and the mattress coming up on
either side, to be a comfortable way to sleep. And just as a side note,
I'm 5'5'' and 120 pounds, so I think the sag would happen for most
people, unless the canvas part on my hideaway was defective. Some may
not mind the sag, but I ended up sending it back.
