should i buy Nomad Solid Hardwood Platform Bed Frame reviews

The Nomad is made of smooth, clean, unfinished poplar hardwood, not pine. Many of the pine frames on the market have a rough splintery feel. Pine averages 18% moisture content, our hardwood is kiln dried to 8%, which means it's far less likely to split or warp. This pure untreated wood is preferred by many consumers seeking a natural, hypo-allergenic alternative to todays chemical laden products. We have been selling furniture since 1984 and these are the finest quality unfinished bed frames we have seen. *Assembly required. -SORRY, WE DO NOT SHIP TO ALASKA OR HAWAII. I bought this because the other reviews said it wasn't splintery. They're right... for a good cheap platform frame, it's pretty solid. It's quite high off the floor, which is great for storing stuff under it, but is a little odd for something that's futonic.
It's easy to put together, and the advice to tighten the screws again after the first few weeks is good advice. I've un-assembled this and re-assembled it, and it's still solid. This is a good buy. My fiance and I searched every internet site and every furniture store around us looking for a platform bed. We couldn't find a single thing under $250, they were ALL made out of particle board and weighed over a 100 pounds! We were so excited when we found the Nomad bed that we ordered it immediately. The shipping took half as long as the predicted 12 days; although, there was no tracking, which was frustrating. On the morning of the fifth day as I was preparing to call Amazon to track down whether or not the bed had even shipped, it showed up on our front porch!
We set it up right then and there and it took us less than 15 minutes! It was sooo easy, all the pieces fit together perfectly! The screws, though they do show, have a dark finish on them so they actually look nice and give a natural, handmade look to a fairly contemporary bed. There are slats that your mattress sits on, so if you have a tempurpedic I would recommend getting some plywood to lay down, but our regular mattress has been fantastic without plywood. It's so nice not having to deal with a boxspring!
One of the best things about this bed is that even though it's a platform, you can store stuff under it! It's much higher off the ground than most platforms, so we could actually put drawers underneath!
All-in-all, buying this bed was the smartest purchase we ever made. The bolts screw into metal sockets, not the wood, so whenever we move we'll have no problem taking the bed apart and bringing it with us! It's going to be with us for a very long time! I ordered this bed Tuesday afternoon and received it Friday. I assembled it by myself in just under an hour. It was a joy to assemble; the parts fit together just as described and the steps to assemble were simple. The assembled bed is very sturdy. I walked across it without the mattress on and I felt no weakness when applying my full weight (135 lbs) to a single slat. I had been concerned that the spacing between the slats would be noticeable through my 10 inch latex mattress, but that turned out to not be the case. I wasn't too excited about having four screws in the center of the head and foot boards of the bed, but a simple bed skirt hides them well.Durable, looks great. Far better than any metal bed frame. As to the review about the center supports sticking up, if you don't install them upside down you won't have that problem.Overly happy about my purchase and thanks to all the positive reviews here, I made the right choice with this frame. Very study, beautiful wood, simple, and comfortable. I managed to put the whole thing together myself (I am 25 years old, 5'5, thin) but had no problems at all. The hardest part was actaully just getting the box up to my second floor (very heavy and long), although I am generally able to make anything happen if I really want it to :)Very satisfied here!It feels a little loose in the joints, but it's been pretty good so far. It provides enough room underneath for storing copy paper boxes easily (and for my cats to hide). It also supports the 60-pound dog jumping from the floor to the top of the mattress quite easily. This is a high quality, American grown and made bed frame. I forget the exact state but mine came with a piece of paper showing where the wood was grown and where it was assembled. It was somewhere down south I remember.

I use this frame to support my 18 inch deep memory foam mattress. This setup results in the bed being roughly hip high which is perfect in my opinion. The mattress rests directly on the frame with nothing else needed. The slats are close enough together so that this setup works great and also allows for extra breathability in the bed. I also like that the frame is high enough off the ground that I can store a whole bunch of stuff under the bed.

The wood used is of nice quality and is thick enough that this frame is very sturdy. The bolts used to assemble the frame go into metal inserts in the wood which means you can assemble this bed as many times as needed and it will always be tight. I am a heavy person and I can jump all over on my bed and this frame doesn't make so much as a peep.So far so good with this frame! I'm not sure about what some other people were talking about there space between the frame and the support planks. My mattress doesn't feel raised or dented anywhere. Now, that could be because I have a thick pillow top mattress, so I don't know how it would be with a foam mattress. I really don't see there being a problem though. The only thing I didn't like about this frame was how high it made my bed. I was looking for a platform bed so that my toddler wouldn't need help getting in a out if she needed me, but the top of the bed is at my waist. lol And, of course, that's without a box spring. Though there is a good amount of space for storage under the frame, so that's a plus from your typical platform bed. :) If you have little ones (or are clumsy) you'll want to put something over the corners of the frame. They aren't jagged, but it's a fairly pointed corner. My daughter got scratched once. A bed skirt will blunt it. All in all, I really do love this frame though. Me and my roommate put it together fairly quickly. You basically make two ladders and connect them to the body. Very simple. And I haven't bothered to stain the wood. It's a nice color on its own, and a bed skirt covers it anyway.
Oh, and it's sturdy. My two year old decided to jump on my bed and it survived. :) We didn't know what kind of bed we wanted before remodeling and decorating which would take a year or two, and were tired of sleeping on the floor. An hour of online research yielded this company's frame as the best priced, seemingly strongest, environmentally unharmful, made-in-the USA temporary option and we aren't disappointed on any front. It doesn't move or squeak and we're restless sleepers (don't forget to go back to re-tighten the bolts after a few days). Everything fit together easily and sensibly with a clean pure wood scent. It doesn't stick out from the mattress to bark unsuspecting shins but fits as it should while grabbing the mattress so it doesn't migrate. Good timely shipping as well. When we finally get the "real bed" we plan to saw the frame in half, bolt the backs to the wall, pile on some fabric and cushions and have a nice banquette in the living room. Highly recommended. I don't know what the big deal was with putting it together. So many people complained about it being heavy or having a bump in the middle. Not true. I'm a 5'2" woman and I put that bed together in less than 15 minutes. The instructions are super simple and the bed was ridiculously easy to put together. No bump in the middle at all. Especially if you put it together correctly. My husband only helped with move it once I got all the pieces in. I can take it apart and put it together quickly and easily for moving. Once together it weighs maybe 100 lbs. Solid wood, not particle, and smells wonderful! The wood is ready for painting or staining as well. On top of that it's also very tall. I love tall beds so this was ideal for me. My cats also enjoy them because, well, it's a hiding place. Plus...the bed doesn't wiggle, shake, or make any noise while, uh, my husband and I do what lovers do. LOL

should i buy Pragma Bed® Mattress Platform - Bi-Fold. reviews

Assembly is never a concern with Pragma BedTM bases: no tools are required to put one together. All you need to do is pull it out of the box, unfold it, and place it in its designated space. If you wish to store your Pragma BedTM frame, just fold it up and hide it away. All bed frames, except the twin-sized frame, come in packages of two bed frames that once joined make up their desired bed size. This means that for a queen-sized bed, our customer will receive two bed frames that have the following dimensions when combined: 37.75" x 39.5" x 2.75", 36.8 lbs. Lightweight, strong, and easy to assemble: that's a Pragma BedTM. After buying a similar one of these for my queen sized bed I sought out one for my son's twin XL memory foam bed. Of all of them that I looked at this was the most cost effective while still being well built. This one took a little more effort to unfold than the one I had previously purchased, the difference is minimal. Additionally, there are brackets that require thumb screws at each end of the frame. They take a couple of minutes to thumb screw together. Not a big deal for us as the bed isn't going anywhere but I know that some people use these as guest beds or in a fashion where they set them up and break them down very often. We had the frame fully set up in under five minutes. It's sturdy and as it is pretty tall, we got rid of the box spring. There is no difference in comfort. IF you are browsing frames for your mattress, go get this frame right away. Who ever packed this frame took care, and I have had this now for about 3 weeks, and I could not be more pleased. It is higher than what I thought it would be, but I am very happy with that. My mattress sits on this well does not move. I do not hear any creaking when I move on my bed, and I have a concrete floor. I highly recommend this! It bypassed my expectations. The frame is not actually black, it is more like a pewter color (if that makes any difference)
This bed frame is super sturdy, raises my mattress off the ground to the perfect level and is easy to assemble. I got it for a CalKing memory foam mattress. My mattress fits on it perfectly and stays in place. I would recommend this to anybody!!!
Love this. It is lightweight so move friendly. Compacts down to about the size of two baby gates.I have heard very, very light squeaking during those "rambunctious" moments but barely detectable. Now it may be since I have created a personalized mattress of 5 inch dense foam, 3 inch latex, 4 inch cool memory foam and then a three inch wool topper..maybe all of that padding keeps things quiet. Anyway, assembly was a cinch just attach together with hooks. LOVE THIS I purchased this for a queen aerobed slept on for several months & the very sturdy frame worked well. When it arrived, it was VERY heavy & I was concerned about storage. The queen comes in two pieces and taking it up and down the stairs requires being able to carry a bit of weight. Also, I had some concern about the aerobed (which tends to be a bit fragile) being punctured by the metal frame, so I put a foam "egg crate" on the frame to protect the aerobed. I also put furniture "coasters" under all the legs to avoid indentations on the area rug. This frame is a huge step up from a lesser-quality frame purchased years ago & thrown out due to poor quality. Overall, this is a good frame. It served its purpose and is very sturdy. It held over 400 lbs. Just sqeaked a lot when you moved. Can be annoying. This was great for about two months. Then it got very, very noisy. Now, after using it for about 11 months, any time my wife or I move on the bed even a little bit, the noise is so loud it wakes me up. The seller won't even return my email asking whether it is a defect or just a poor quality product.I was a bit hesitant to purchase this frame, based on several reviews about squeaky frames, which annoys the crap out of me mid-performance. I'm happy to say that this frame is just as quiet, if not quieter than my old-school metal frame and box-spring combo. I've had it about a month or so now, and it's been "tested" comprehensively. I weigh 250, and GF is 150-ish. Putting all my bed spreads UNDER it, has cleared up quite a bit of shelf space. Bonus! This platform is PERFECT for a narrow apartment hallway, very easy to assemble, and great if you want to store stuff under the bed. The only problem is the creaking, which can be pretty loud. Because my husband and I live alone with no kids or roomates, the creaking isn't super bothersome, but if you don't want anyone to know that you're doing more than sleeping, this may not be the bed for you. I was a little apprensive when I read "no box spring needed" but, decided to give it a shot. So glad I did! It is definately more comfortable and, I get a much better nights sleep and more storage room underneath. I would have no problem recommending this product to anyone.Light! good for students or people on the move. Does not squeak much, though you would expect it when you first see it. Put soft plastics under the legs to reduce that and as one reviewer said, oil the joints.

Holds my Memory foam mattresses perfectly.

I like that the King comes as to X-twins. That way the movement is reduced between your partner.I guess it's good for holding a mattress off the ground, but you can't move one inch without the entire frame creaking and cracking. This is NOT a replacement for a box spring and bedframe. I asked them about returning the item but they said I would be responsible for shipping with is substantial, making a return not worth it. I guess be sure this is what you want before ordering. The Pragma bed frame comes fully assembled and unfolds very simply. Then, at least on the twin size, there are 4 wingnuts to tighten on some diagonal brackets. No tools are required. I had it set up completely in less than two minutes.

The mattress lies on the bed frame. You don't need nor want a box spring with this because it would make the bed too high. I bought a 10-12" thick memory foam mattress, and the overall height of the bed is perfect now. It's a few inches higher the regular bed was. And a big plus is the storage space underneath. There is something like 14" of clearance. I never had that before. It's great.

The bed frame is well designed. They employ optimal value engineering (I think that's the correct term) to minimize use of materials yet maximize the strength and functionality of it. It IS strong, but there is lateral movement from leg and hinge flex. I haven't put it to the test, but I think it will hold up fine. Metal flexes, no problem. It's just not as rigid as I'd expected. For the price (about $125) it is a good value. I'm glad that I bought it, and I do recommend it to others. A side benefit is that when it comes time to move it, it will refold into a small and easy to manage size. That's a big plus right there. I purchased this to go with my memory foam mattress, so I wouldn't have to buy a box spring. It is the perfect height and is very stable. Assembly is a breeze, and takes only 1-2 min. Also, it can be easily refolded to be moved, which was a necessity for me.

Only complaint is that if you move around a lot in the bed it will sweak when the robber feet slide against a hard floor, like the way I have it set up. This product is made in America and is excellent quality. I had a cheap futton for company but it was bulky and not very comfortable. The queen size Pragma bed is basically two twins that connect with some wing nuts, super comfortable and when folded up can be hidden anywhere. The best part is putting this bed togheter takes less then 30 seconds. You could also use this as your everyday bed as well. Super easy set up - only needed a screwdriver to set up - the mattress platform makes absolutely no noise - comes with two platforms which are light and compact - each almost the size of a briefcase. Very satisfied with my purchase - easily worth the money - perfect for foam mattresses. VERY QUICK to setup and with my memory foam top I haven't had a problem. I have not performed the kinky actions as per some reviews noted you may want to check on squeaks and such but will add that to my to-list this weekend! ha. To get back to the story, great purchase and was delivered quickly ahead of schedule!!

should i buy Better Than a Box Spring & Bed Frame reviews

This affordable mattress support system will conveniently and comfortably support your mattresses while providing more than double the storage space found under traditional box springs and bed frame. The better than a box spring system is designed to be compatible with existing mattress furniture frames and fits 14" dust ruffles. No more chin pain. I had recently bought two memory foam mattresses which did not require a box spring and would be too low on a regular frame. I ordered one frame to try out and when I received it I thought I would have to send it back as it looked pretty flimsy. However, once it was put together and the two halves connected, it was a firm foundation for the mattress. It came with its own bed skirt and was easy to put together. A big plus is the 14" clearance I now have between the frame and the floor. Much easier to use as storage now.

After assembly, I went back to Amazon to order the second frame. My old box spring was sagging in the middle and was driving me crazy. I read a lot of reviews online and the Better Than a Box Spring Bed Frame came highly suggested, so I bought it.

The Frame was super easy to put together. I took it out of the box and put it together in less than 10 minutes. It is well constructed and looked like it would support my mattress much better than any regular box spring/bed frame. I wasn't disappointed! This bed frame is very supporting, comfortable and there is plenty room to store stuff underneath if needed.

My only complaint is that the skirt that came with it and was very cheap.i'm really happy with this purchase ! my only complaint is that i imagined this to fit perfectly under my queen sized bed, but there is about 5 inches of bed frame surrounding my mattress. besides that, it is super strong, doesnt squeek or make any noises (which was why i got a new frame in the first place), and it has lots of space for storage underneath. i'm glad i got this even though it is a bit too big, it is really strong and sturdyWe just moved and our queen size box spring wouldn't fit upstairs so we had a problem. Since it's next to impossible to find 2 box springs that fit a queen we went online and found this. We just go it yesterday and it took 5 minutes to set up. It works perfect, so nice to sleep in a bed after 2 weeks of couching it. I bought this to replace my box spring. I was a little worried about it being flimsy, but it's pretty solid. The great part is now I have way more storage space under my bed. I had a platform bed that I wanted to replace but I did not want to buy a box spring for my existing matress. This is a perfect solution. Light-weight & easy to assembleits interwoven wire surface gives the support to which I was acustomed. The height is good & it comes with a bed skirt which is adequate but can always be replaced if desired. The frame has center legs along the side & bottom which I was bumping into while making the bed. I resolved this by buying a piece of foam pipe insulation, cutting it to fit & sliding it around each leg. Now its soft if I hit it with my foot. I also put self stick furniture pads on the feet to keep it from making noise on the hardwood floor when I got in or out. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. This item is just what is advertised. As it turns out, it is a little higher a frame than I really needed but that was my fault. We purchased it for underbed storage and that is exactly what we got. The frame is very solid when put together. I would definitely purchase another one. My old box spring was sagging in the middle and was driving me crazy. should i buy Sleep Master - Platform Metal Bed Frame reviews

Smart Base steel bed frame eliminates the need for a traditional box spring. The flat, rigid, all steel surface protects your mattress because its steel construction will never sag like traditional box springs, it provides a more stable and solid support system for your mattress. The Smart Base also provides a full 14" of underbed storage space. Fast and easy set up. (Headboard not included) Four headboard/footboard brackets allow you to add a headboard and a footboard to your Smartbase bed frame. As an added BONUS a white bed skirt is included for a designer look. I have a narrow stairway up to my bedroom, so getting a standard queen sized box frame up was out of the question and I went out on a limb with this. This frame is AWESOME! I was worried that it would squeek, but it is silent, doesn't move around, and holds up well. The bed skirt is a little junky, but I had another to use anyways. SUPER easy and quick to put together, I would recommend this product to everybody! This item is great! Easy to put together and it made the support for my bed so much better, without having to buy a whole new bed-now my only problem is not wanting to get out of bed in the morning!!! I purchased a matress, but used the same boxspring, I could not sleep for 1 month. I saw the Sleep Master Platform. I said Eureka!!! I read all the reviews and it sound that it was not a bad deal. I came on time, it was so light that I carried my self. It was easy to put together, but the paint started to ship right away. It is the same hight from my metal frame, around 12" weight about 40lbs. I do not have a matress with a topper so it does not look good, the bed skirt is fine. Works as described. If you have a wood floor, the rubber on the feet is incredibly noisy. I had to put felt sliders on them which stopped all the noise. This product took me all of 10 minutes to set up. I love it. The bed skirt is cheap looking and I plan on replacing it, but I didn't buy this product for the skirt. I would recommend this product to anyone! Very easy assembly and it gives great support with a lot of under bed storage. Normally putting things together tend to be challeging for me this was a cinch, thank you! No more kicking up one leg, and jump-diving into bed! The thickness of new mattresses and box springs made my bed above my waist height... I am elderly and did not want to add a step for fear of falling and breaking a bone. This bed frame is exactly the right height, and works wonderfully with my vintage bedroom suite. There is room to store underneath the bed. It was extremely easy to assemble. The frame supports my mattress nicely, and I cannot tell any difference without the box springs. I recommend this to anyone that is tired of climbing/jumping into bed, lol. I really like the design of this bed. It wholly does away with the need for separate bedframes and box springs. It's really sturdy, and it can probably hold a very large person (up to 350 lbs., I'm guessing). I bought it because it also ships with optional headboard/footboard attachments, so you can make it look nice with a headboard and footboard if you want.

Be aware that the headboard/footboard may ship separately. I mistakenly thought that they shipped together, but they might arrive separately.

I'm very satisfied with this product. setup was easy; my son grew into a twin xl so I wanted to replace his old twin frame and keep his existing headboard and footboard; only drawback is that only four screws (one at each mounting post) fit with the attachment brackets...height is NOT adjustible as the frame legs need to sit on the ground or the middle will sag. Previous frame had no middle supports touching the floor, so access for underbed storage was easier, but this frame provides more stability. Would have preferred to secure with two screws at each point but with a 14" foam mattress it seems to be secure enough. Heavy frame and I didn't want to send it back and overall he's happy with it. Bed skirt is very thin and I didn't use it. First of all this is a great product an is as described.I bought this for my son who is 6'3 an 294 pounds.Lets just say, he loves it! Im also thinking of purchasing myself one hehe This was an excellent bed frame - inexpensive, easy to assemble and completely silent -- for a few months.

After that it slowly became worse and worse. Now, even my 1 year old moving on the mattress makes a lot of noise.
It squeaks constantly. I hate it.

One positive thing about it is that it is very sturdy. My husband, myself and our 1 and 3 year old pile into bed together and it feels very sturdy and solid. It's just really hard to forgive the horrible squeaking.v

should i buy Platform Metal Bed Frame/Foundation Set(SmartBase reviews

Amazon--and several other vendors--are showing a lot of these in different sizes and at different price points. I bought this one because it came with the headboard and footboard hardware. Better to have it all upfront, rather than go hunt for it some time in the future.

Folded up, the thing looks like a real rattletrap. Unfolded and set up, it is rock solid and rigid. The queen comes as two identical parts which, when unfolded, bolt together to form the platform. Its two piece design makes handling, moving and setting up the whole thing very easy.

The platform is rock solid under our weight. Not a squeak or creak to be heard. That the platform puts 15 legs on the floor sure helps.

If you need a platform, happen to like the skirted look and could use all that extra under-bed storage, this is a great choice. Plus, the extra hardware makes attaching headboards and footboards quick and easy.
We have a memory foam mattress which is quite heavy. We paid over $1,000 for a beautiful designer platform bed with slats, and within a few weeks, the bed started to squeak. The frame was rock solid, but the slats would push against the frame of the bed, and the bed just squeaks everytime we get on/off the bed or move around on the bed. My husband rolls around a lot when he sleeps, and everytime he rolls, the bed squeaks, and I have an awful sleep.

We couldn't return the platform bed to the store, so we had to sell it cheaply. Then we were on the hunt for a solid bed that won't slide easily when pushed up against, and will not squeak. You won't believe how hard it is to find a bed that fit those two criteria. We were a bit nervous about ordering this bed. It seems so lightweight, and we were worried about it being flimsy.

Once we opened the box and put the bed together (super easy assembly, btw) and put the heavy mattress on, we realized the bed is rock solid, AND NO SQUEAKING! For this price!!

The skirt that came with the bedframe isn't all that great. It's quite thin, and a boring white. I ordered another skirt for it. It's nice having all that space under the bed for storage, and it's an added plus to have the headboard mounting brackets if you have a headboard.

We are so happy with the product, and so grateful for finding it! Delivery was lightning fast, which was a really nice added bonus.
My box spring broke and I needed a replacement. I didn't want to go out and buy a new box spring and wanted something that would last. I've had this metal platform for about 2 months now and it's holding up great. I'm a bigger guy of about 275 and it doesn't even move when I toss and turn.

When I first opened the box, I hesitated because I didn't think the little legs would hold up my body weight. But this is one sturdy base.
I ordered the kingsized version of this and have been sleeping on it for about three weeks. I was worried that it would slide on my hardwood floors, but it doesn't move, even when the kids jump on it. With the mattress and boxspring, the height of the bed is 33 inches, which is very tall but regal in my bedroom. After looking everywhere for a ready-made dust ruffle, without success, I'm about to have one made with the 23" drop. This is the only real inconvenience. Otherwise, delivery was quick, I unfolded the bed alone and set it up. The headboard brackets sold separately were easy to install with my upholstered headboard. This is a great item. the first thing i would like to say is that the delivery was perfect. i was able to track the purchase from leaving to my home.never really having purchased online before this was a great experience.the bed frame was easy for me by myself to assemble and being not that mechanical that was a big plus.i did find though the headboard attachment needs at least two hands to do.the frame is very supportive and i think it is better than a regular box spring in that it can be moved easily.i would recommend this product to anyone who would like a more moveable box-spring.i am really thinking about getting a twin if one is available. I ordered this 6 months ago and just finished remodeling the master bedroom. I set this up by myself in 10 minutes or less, and put my brand new mattress on top of it. I am in love. Yes, part of it is the new mattress, but the frame is solid and supportive of the mattress. I haven't slept this well in a long time.

Pros:
1. EASY set up. As someone who has wrestled with more than their fair share of standard bed frames ALONE, this was incredibly simple.
2. Solid. I'm not a bouncing on the bed type, but I'm pretty certain this would stand up to just about anything.
3. Lightweight and easy to handle - since the queen came in two pieces (folded), it was easy to move each piece into the room and set them up. Move a couple of bars, twist some wing nuts, put two spacer bolts between the two sections and VOILA! you have a bed frame.
4. Underbed storage - This is really impressive. I'm the first to admit, I have too much stuff. I do try to keep it organized though, and this gives me a place to put the "covered" bins I seem to end up with. Much better than finding mystery things under the bed when I move it.

Cons:
1. The head/foot board brackets and skirt did not arrive, and I didn't notice it since I didn't open the package right away. However...the seller is sending them to me now..6 months later..without so much as a twitch.
2. Wing nut missing - I didn't mention this to the seller, but I have a feeling they'd have sent me one. I just went to the hardware store and matched it since it's a standard size.

Even without the brackets, I love the bed frame. I am pleased with the seller for their prompt attention, and really can't begin to tell you how much better I'm sleeping.

should i buy Pragma Bed® Mattress Platform - Quad-Fold reviews

Assembly is never a concern with Pragma BedTM bases: no tools are required to put one together. All you need to do is pull it out of the box, unfold it, and place it in its designated space. If you wish to store your Pragma BedTM frame, just fold it up and hide it away. All bed frames, except the twin-sized frame, come in packages of two bed frames that once joined make up their desired bed size. This means that for a queen-sized bed, our customer will receive two bed frames that have the following dimensions when combined: 30.25" x 23" x 10.75", 36.8 lbs. Lightweight, strong, and easy to assemble: that's a Pragma BedTM. So after reading reviews, I decided to give it a shot. My conclusion is as long as you put it together correctly, works flawlessly with 12 legs and very strong. So this is what you need to know. After pulling it out of box and unfolding them and putting them side by side and putting 2 very easy bolts through it to secure them together, I noticed the legs on the head and feet of the frame are collapsible so if you were obviously trying to move it or sit on it, the legs may fold in. So im like ok now I know why some of these reviews are like this. So im looking at the one BUT!! if you look closely at the head and feet of frames there are 2 wing nuts on each side screwed on the frame just chillin there. Then across from those nuts are two free standing bars tucked underneath. So i was like ahhhh thats what you do. Very surprised not in instructions. You twist the bar around to the screw, which had the wing nut on it that you removed and you secure it with that nut. And you do that to all four of them, two at head and two and feet, and bammm your frame is like a brick house.
Now if you are like me and bought this for a memory foam mattress then you are going to home depot and buying two sheets of like 11/32 plywood cut 29 1/2 by 80 and you are going to put that on top of the frame. ( i secured them with drilling 4 holes and using 4 zip ties to secure it to frame, but im just crazy like that.) then you put memory foam on top of that and you are in heaven for under 200 bucks.
So i would definitely recommend this! We bought this bed 6 months ago, at first we thought it was wonderful. We purchased it because we couldn't get the box spring up the stairs, and we needed a quick solution. The frame squeaks every time you roll over right from the start, at about month 3 we noticed that the bottom portion of the frame was starting to bend on both sides, and the legs to the frame are not very sturdy at all! Last night when our dog was laying on the bed alone (she is 85 lbs) the middle of the frame broke in half and the entire mattress caved in! Please note, we aren't skinny tiny people, but we certainly do not exceed, or come close to meeting the weight limit that this bed is supposed to support. So, now only after 5 months of use, we are forced to get another frame. Once the frame started to bend, it did nothing but give us back problems anyway, because the bed was at a constant slant. We also had problems with frame moving constantly ( Ie, would slide on the floor away from the wall every night) even with little to no movement in the bed. Easy set up out of the box, poor product and quality. Spend a few extra dollars and get something that is going to last. Bought this bed frame to replace my sagging queen box springs, and glad I did. I set my mattress directly on top and use a 3" memory foam topper to smooth it out. It's firm, but you can't feel the bars through through the mattress and topper. This frame is very supportive, and very sturdy. The bed has screw hole on all sides so it's great for attachment points if you're into the kinky stuff, or if you want to attach a headboard or other decorations. The bed frame squeaks a tiny bit if you move on it just right, but overall is quieter than the box frame I had. Folds up very compact, and will be extremely convenient when I move. It seemed pricey when I bought it, but you can feel the quality in the build. This thing was designed for prison and military beds, so I don't doubt I can take abuse. The only part I don't like is the queen set is just two smaller frames linked together by a bolt with wing nuts and a plastic spacer washer. I have a feeling the plastic washers are the weak link in this bed, but so far no problems!

Update: after a year, the bed is still holding up very well, even with 500lbs of tickle wars and wrestling. No regrets at all with this purchase. We read the reviews on this, and so far, have not experienced the "squeaking" that some have found. The only problem is my dog does not like having so much room under there (haha) Seriously, we are very pleased so far. I bought this bed frame in March and have used it twice since. We just throw an air mattress up there, and its so wonderful to elevate your air mattress guests off of the floor!. I am just under 5 feet tall, and I can carry each piece of the bed from the garage to the guest room by myself and set it up alone. The ease of the product is unmatched. My family are pretty small people, so we have no issues whatsoever with parts breaking, and I can't imagine them breaking either. Seems like a wonderful product for people that have limited storage space and don't want their extra room in their house to have a bed in it 24/7 when houseguests only come a few times a year. It does squeak a bit, but I have yet to figure out if its the air mattress rubbing on the metal, or the metal on metal, but if I were using this as my regular bed, I'd def throw a memory foam on it instead. And YES- you have to swing around the two "hidden" bars on either side and insert the screw into the eye for stability- which is bonkers that its not in the directions, but you figure it out. 5 stars! Bought this in December of 2010. Worked quite well for about 9 months, then the wingnuts that secure the frame bolts started to unscrew themselves. I replaced them, tighter, but didn't want to epoxy or "loc-tite" them because part of the reason I got this frame was so that it would move with me (I move often). One month later, the screws were coming out again. This became a game of tightening the screws once a week. I eventually tried spacers, washers, and a "backup nut" that would provide additional support.

This all became moot about a month after that; the center support (the entire horizontal set of legs and bars across the center) snapped right off when I pushed the bed two feet toward the wall while cleaning underneath with zero weight on it. The shearing force of its own weight snapped it. After taking a closer look, I see that the welds are *terrible*. Just itty-bitty spot welds, as if welding wire was a precious resource. I tried repairing it with an arc welder I borrowed from work, which was fine for about 3 weeks, until the corner leg snapped in a similar fashion.

So, 2 stars for lasting a year. Other than that, these are *not* well made. The concept is great, and it seems as if it *should* be strong, but the tubing is all thin and hollow, and welded only on one side of each joint. Now I have to go find a frame that's tall enough to fit my stuff underneath (the second main reason I bought this), *and* make sure it can actually perform. Very inconvenient. We bought this some time ago and it still does what it does. No unnecessary squeaks, no uncomfortable bulges - no problems. However, I should note that we do have a dog and so I was worried that the legs of the frame may bend (as to close) while he is under the bed. So, we bought some strong plastic ties from the nearest Home Depot and made sure that the legs cannot close. So far, no problem. If you do not have the space for more traditional platforms, or do not want to spend the money, then this is a very good and affordable solution. I purchased a mattress in Oct. 2011 and saw the ad for the platform that would support the mattress. The mattress is awesome but the platform that it sat on was a piece of junk! It collapsed in the middle causing the metal pieces to push up into the mattress. Needless to say, we had to put the mattress on the floor and remove the platform. There was only a one month return policy on it so we are out all the money we spent on it. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the Pragma Bed Mattress Platform. Very poor quality. We now have three of these twin size frames. We ordered a king (which wound up being two twins placed side by side) for our master bedroom memory foam mattress and ordered a twin size for use on a guest bed, also with a memory foam mattress, for out of town guests...and these are wonderful. Comfy, sturdy and a great value. Could not be more pleased. With a bed skirt the frame is completely hidden and the underbed storage these create is just tremendous. I purchased this frame in March for a memory foam mattress. Within three months it completely fell apart. The metal ties connecting the frame broke and now is useless. It was good for about 1 month before metal straps started to pop and then the main frame. Amazon should not even advertise this product and I will be attempting to recover by money. I own this model. I bought it for my two twin size memory foam mattresses, which equals a king size. The matresses dip and bow because the wire cross bits are too small and far apart. Now I am looking all over for a way to fix it. I have bamboo mats Y a rug laid over this base between it and the matressess and it still is not enough to keep it from sinking. Don't be fooled or you will have to start all over, like me. If you have a regular mattress or still have the boxes and like a very high up bed you will be fine. Hope this helped Y'all.

If you wish to store your Pragma Bed* frame, just fold it up and hide it away. No tools assembly required. I recently moved and had a space downsize...so I needed serious help with space saving furniture. This bed frame is the ticket. Plus it is made very well, sturdy and supportive to my mattress.
Great price for a great product and it was delivered as company promised.
Very happy. I bought this item last week, and got it three days ago.
The delivery took some time. That's the only flaw.
Except that, everything with the item is perfect.
Very sturdy and pragmatic(like the seller's name), my wife and I am fully satisfied with it.
We considered a boxspring and qeen mattress set, but after having found this frame at Amazon, we changed our mind.
That was a excellent decision because we can save money on a boxspring, and can get a cheap but good buy at the same time.
On the bed, we can't feel any unstability, which is often found in other frames with rollers.
We're going to get this to my home country Korea.
Now...I am not one to rave about bed frames, but let me tell you...this one is awesome. We were looking for an alternative to a box spring and we wanted some height off of our floor. Not only is this product reasonably priced, it's also light-weight and sturdier than I imagined it being. I was skeptical when I took it out of the box because it was so light, but I have had this sucker for a few weeks now, and it gives my mattress the firmness I was looking for and it can easily withstand the vigorous jumping on the bed that my child enjoys. If you are between this product and a regular box spring...don't think twice and just get this. You will be happy that you did. An added plus is that it's super portable (unlike a box spring)! I think this is an amazing invention.
I'm not a big fan of soft mattresses so I bought a futon mattress. I had no intention of buying a frame for. Then I found out about this product. I watched a few clips from Youtube to ensure that I'm getting a product that I'm being promised. I'm pleased with the product and I believe it is worth the price tag. I thought the price was a bit high, but then I figured if it actually lasts long (which I will find out), then it will be easy to move around when I decide to move to another place. I could use it as a sofa extender as well. Not a bad buy for me. I had bad purchases from Amazon before, but this one is actually not bad at all. Great frame that is strong and portable. There are a few similar frames like this on the market but the design on those I feel is poor compared to this unit. I did alot of homework on these style of frames and this brand is the best engineered. and they are all comparable in price. The design of this frame is great because it uses all wingnuts, which can be sufficiently tightened using your fingers alone. It's sturdy and best of all, doesn't squeek when my girlfriend and I boink on it! yay! This is a common problem that I've had with the traditional bed frame and box spring. But thanks to this impeccable design, my room mate is no longer disturbed on weekend nights. Also, this seller sent this out remarkably fast. It literally was on my doorstep the next day. Bravo! The frame advertises no-tool assembly and that is true however, if you are planning on leaving the bed in place permanently/long-term then I recommend tightening it up with pliers. The frame is not heavy, the box and contents easily moved about by one person. I assembled it myself and it was quite simple, though I read up on the reviews and took tips of another customer since really the instructions are lacking with this product by the manufacturer. Here's what I did:

Remove two frame halves from box and lay "topside" down on carpeted floor.
Stand up all legs. Using center nuts and bolts, attach two frame halves together.
Locate nuts and bolts for leg supports... this is the important part and not mentioned in the directions.
Secure all legs with supports and turn nuts and bolts by hand. I do not use pliers at this point because there isn't enough space for turning while on floor.
Turn bed rightside up and then use pliers to tighten all nuts and bolts extra firm.
One person assembly approx 20 mins. because of the extra time for the tightening.

This will leave you with a rock solid foundation frame that does not require a box spring. I have mine paired with a traditional innerspring mattress with pillowtop. The mattress is kind of old and the frame definitely adds to the comfort. The bed is tall, with a deep mattress do not even entertain the idea of getting a topper for it (which I was considering) unless you wish to add steps to your bedside! I think it will hold nicely until I break down and get a new mattress. There is some question if using a foam mattress you may wish to have a board underneath as platform. Sounds sensible.

Full grown adult can stand on it, kids can jump on it. I

There is no noise at all when you lay down, roll over, (and other activities...) It was a task putting together but was well worth the effect. No complaints at all. I received the item I purchased on time and packaged well. It was a task putting the bed together but not that bad. The instruction calls for two people to construct the bed but I was able to do it by myself with no issues. Excellent productI got myself a new memory foam mattres and I did not want a regular bed frame which is when I found out about platforms. This bed support makes my room look ten times more stylish and gives the perfect support to my bed and back. The assembly was easy and I would get this again for a new bed. Looks nice, but is made of particle board. This does not deserve it's price point. It feels like it will break if you ever move it. Item arrived on time in two cartoons. Easy to set up. Recommend having two people accomplish this task. Looks good and priced right! I received the item I purchased on time and packaged well. It was a task putting the bed together but not that bad. The instruction calls for two people to construct the bed but I was able to do it by myself with no issues. Excellent product.

My wife and I bought this bed to replace an old spring mattress that we had. We thought it would be a good idea to have an open mind and test out some other products on the market besides springs. We went to the stores first to see what exactly it was that we were seeing online. The cheapest memory foam mattress that we found were around the $900 mark. We looked at Sleep Number beds, which did feel nice, but not for $1500 to $2500. Anyhoo, we found the Sleep Innovations 8" foam in the $300 dollar range and it was a no brainer. I know its a little nerve racking dropping that kind of money on a mattress you haven't seen before but it was worth every penny! I read all the reviews and prepared myself for the worst case senario. I expected a queen size mattress in a small box that was gonna stink up the house with a chemical odor that wasn't comfortable. That wasn't the case! The mattress did come in a small box, it was about 2' X 2' X 3' and it weighed about 70 lbs. Shipping was free :) I cut it open expecting the odor, and there was. The odor lasted for a whole entire 10 minutes after the mattress expanded itself accross the bed. As a matter of fact we slept on it that night and we were pretty comfortable. However when I woke up in the morning I felt like I had been hit by a truck my wife wasn't much better. This went on for a little over a week but the soreness did stop. I think our bodies were adjusting from the springs to the foam would be my best guess. Anyhoo, the moral of the story is that we have had it for about 3 months now and I couldn't imagine not having it and I kick myself for not buying this product sooner. If anyone asked I would defineitly recommend this mattress despite the intitial fears of buying something you can't really see up close. Also as for the bang for the buck, you can't screw up unless you absolutely hate it. I've had this mattress for 6 weeks now. I was initially very happy, but the foam has broken down and deformed. After 2 weeks it was already losing its "resiliency" - e.g. not bouncing back into its shape. There is a clear indentation or "valley" where I sleep, with a "ridge" between my side of the bed and my wife's. The "ridge" exists because neither of us sleep in the middle of the bed. I worry that after another 6 weeks the bed is going to be a "w", like two hammocks joined together. For the record, I weigh 175 lbs - if this bed can't hold up to the average size guy, then the foam material they use is cheap.
I've been searching for a mattress good for lower back problems. What appears to be the best type of mattress has a soft top layer of 2-3 inches and a very firm lower support layer.

I have tried several mattresses through Walmart and Amazon. None worked well. Some had a soft middle layer which is very bad for a sensitive back. Some were simply too soft. I need a supportive mattress. Several of the Walmart mattresses were over a year old and would not inflate properly.

Eventually I broke down and spend $1400 on a Tempurpedic Cloud mattress. It felt good initially. Very firm. However as winter approached and the house became cooler, the mattress turned to concrete. Too hard even for me. But that in itself wasn't the problem. The problem is that Tempurpedic's memory foam is too heat sensitive. The mattress would initially be hard as a rock, but would soften. The cloud is an 8" mattress with 4" memory foam, an inch of soft eggcrate, and 3 inches of firm support foam. Sitting on the cold mattress shows the problem. At first you sit on the rock hard mattress but then slowly start sinking. The sinking doesn't stop until several minutes later when you pretty much made it through the memory foam and egg crate. You may have sunk 4-5 inches into this mattress. Way too much.

A mattress which sags in the middle is the worst for a bad back, especially if you sleep on your stomach. The Temperpedic ends up doing this. A person's middle is heavy and gets hot under a blanket and slowly sinks all night. Feet and head are lighter and more insulated from the mattress (pillow etc). The end result is that your middle sinks way down, but feet and head dont. It acts like a sagging mattress. Add in partners movements and it makes for an unpredictably soft saggy mattress.

Enter the Sleep Innovations 8" mattress. I emailed their customer support and they kindly responded. ILD is the industry standard measure of mattress firmness. The higher the number the firmer.

Sleep Innovations replied that this mattress has a 2" layer of 3lb memory foam with an ILD of 9, and a 6" layer of 2lb polyurethane foam with an ILD of 40.

3lb density memory foam is about perfect. Tempurpedic uses 5.3lb and 7 lb. The higher the density the more temperature sensitive.

An ILD of 9 is on the soft side for memory foam. Tempurpedic has an ILD of 13-14.
An ILD of 40 for the base is very firm. I have another mattress also reported as ILD of 40 and it's bottom layer is clearly firmer than the Sleep Innovations. However, the Sleep Innovations base form is firm enough, its very supportive. Very well done.

Some mattresses with such a stark difference in layer firmness don't work well. You can easily push through the memory foam and hit a hard base foam. Somehow, this Sleep Innovations mattress does it very well. There is no abrupt or obvious change in firmness as you press on it. It smoothly increases through the memory foam into the base foam.

The build quality of the mattress is also very good, although no where near as nice (fancy) as the Tempurpedic.

End result, my back has been happy for the month we've had the mattress. I hadn't been able to say that for the 6 months we've been searching for a mattress.

I highly recommend this mattress for those who need a medium-firm to firm mattress which provides excellent support. Its especially helpful for those with lower back problems.

I think this is an amazing invention.product came easy to assemble 1 ~ 2 ~ 3 !!! Gave bed great height and very sturdy. Had to get extra screws only came with 2 and just wanted a little extra support, but not required. will be perfect if I ever move because it is compact not like traditional box springs.

It does not move or squeak (I think the pliers make the difference on that) and no end tipping, as we have experienced with standard metal frame and box spring mattress setup. This is much more solid than traditional setup and very well worth the price. Granted I have been using the frame for a couple of weeks only so far but it's not budged or given any bit of trouble so far and I don't expect that it will. If anything changes or I experience any trouble down the road I would certainly update my review accordingly. As it stands I give this five stars and would recommend to anyone. I will never buy another box spring. YAY! If your needs require you moving rooms or apartments, etc. this is a lot easier to get through hallways and maneuver stairs. However, the longer you plan to stay in one place the more comfortable I would feel with all the extra tightening. Otherwise I might not have done it quite so tight but still, the pliers can take apart as easy as it was assembled I'm sure. I must admit - I'm surprised how well this worked out for my Memory Foam mattress. It came in a compact package, was easy to carry upstairs, and set-up in 10 minutes. Plus, without the box spring - you have a whole lot more room to store stuff (if you want to). But the support it provides is what I'm happiest about. Also, I think it could be used as two separate units for twin mattresses. I have been sleeping on this bed frame for a couple of months and would recommend it to anyone who needs one. Its holding up great. I ordered this because my bed with the box spring was so high I had a hard time getting into it. It is lower but I still store things underneath it. I can't say enough good things about it. Our bed frame arrived with 8 leg braces detached to allow for folding. The bolts and wing nuts were shipped attached to the 4 ends so what we had to do was remove them, rotate the braces into position and screw them back in. With two of us working it took about 15 minutes. I deducted one star for this. Our installation is permanent but if you want to store the frame it might be considered a hassle.

When set-up our queen bed frame is supported by 12 legs, 4 on each end and four in the middle.

We use a foam mattress which itself is 12" thick. Our previous bed frame, the one Amazon sells for $109 with wooden slats, had collapsed, had a support beam running the length of the bed in the middle. Since you tend to sink into a foam mattress that beam which would be between two side-by-side sleepers was quite obvious. The construction of this frame has the support beam (where it folds) running left to right about waist level when you're lying down and is basically NOT felt.

The manufacturer mentions headboard and footboard brackets available on their website but no info on prices or how to order.

An included warranty card mentions a 5 year limited warranty offered when you send in the warranty card but no other information other than contact info.

should i buy Byer of Maine Easy Cot reviews

The Easy Cot didn't get its name from being a pain to set up. Military-style cots can take military strength to open and set up. The Easy Cot is pretty much the exact opposite. It gently springs open with just a nudge; it's like it wants you to sleep on it. The steel frame and reinforced fabric are burly enough to hold 325lbs, and the padded hinge covers mean you won't scratch yourself up while trying to sleep.I ended up choosing this cot after watching a video on how easy it is to set up. My intent useage
is for a extra bed in my RV when overnight guests come. I needed something easy to set up and take
down and wide enough for comfort for my guest as well as fold up and store away in a small area.
Some cots that I had looked at, appeared to be very hard to set up and needed alot of manual
strength to stretch the fabric and legs out. So after watching a video on this one,
I decided to give the Easy Cot a try.

I received the cot and the fabric, frame and carring bag all are of good quality and construction.
The width was important as I felt the 24-26 inch wide cots would not be comfortable for guests and
with this one being 32 inches wide, it appears to be be the perfect width for comfort as well as to
what would fit in the space allocated for it in my RV.

The set up was exactly as stated...EASY!

I was a little worried at first as their is no locking mechanism for the legs, but I laid on the cot
and turned over several times and sat on the side of it.
It did not show any signs of trying to unfold as I feared it might. The way the frame is built, it
gives great support in all areas that are needed. I am putting eggcrate foam on it for additional
comfort for my guests, so I cannot comment on the overall comfyness of it without the foam. I did
lay on it for a few hours watching TV, just to see how the comfort level was and it appears that it
will do well in that area. The length is great as well. I am 5.9 and there was plenty of room.

After my comfort test I just laid the cot on its side and it quickly and easily folded up, it less than
60 seconds. The storage bag is well made and the cot slipped into it easily.

So I believe that I did recieve the product that will work well for me and my situation.
I would have given it 5 stars, but I still believe that it should have some type of locking
system for the legs. Again, I had no problems, but just feel that would give added mental
comfort that it would not fold up in the middle of the night.

Great product and would recommende it for ease of use and quality construction.
Great for seniors with ease of use as well.
I needed a cot that was easy to set up and take down, so I purchased the cot from Byer of Maine. It took about 2min. to set-up and close. The cot is well constructed, and it is worth every penny. I especially like the heavy cloth carrying case made for the cot. All in all, I would recommend this cot to anyone looking for a product that is easy to set up and well built. ***Also, you may need a foam pad for the cot or heavy blanket for your back.
The cot is long and roomy. More comfortable than you would think. Kinda of heavy so best to leave it in a place where you don't have to carry for long periods of time. Set up and take down are very easy - one person can absolutely handle it. We bought this for my 6'2" 300+lb husband and he's used it for 2 camping trips so far without any complaints! It's a really nice, large, sturdy cot - I will upgrade mine to this one next time we're shopping for them! It's pretty heavy, but I would expect that from a heavy duty cot. The frame and fabric are very sturdy when set up, even on uneven ground. I recommend this cot to anyone, especially if you're a "bigger-than-average" person! :) I purchased this foldable cot for my son's Boy Scout summer camp. It is well made , folds out and back very easily, and can handle something like a 250 lb adult. It comes in a nice zippered carrying case with a shoulder strap.

The price for all of this stability and comfort is this: Weight. I have not weighed this cot yet, but seriously, this cot has to weigh over 40 lbs.

Conclusion: If you are a big guy, this a good foldable cot. If you weigh 112 lbs, you may be best served with a lighter folding version, as this cot, while having a nice carrying bag with a shoulder strap, can get heavy pretty quickly on a long walk from the car to the campsite.

If you are just using it at home, you are good to go

should i buy Texsport Deluxe Folding Camp Cot reviews

Easy to set up, sturdy, and comfortable. I am very pleased with this cot, and a bargain to boot! When I saw the weight limit at 250 lbs. I had my doubts since I "approach" that weight, and with blankets. sleeping bags, etc., the total probably goes over, but I had no problems. I did have some anxiety the first time I used it on an unlevel tent floor, since it looks like that can overstress the legs. Now I try to find the most level spot I can, and try not to set it up directly in line with a slope, because there is no bracing in that direction. In the cabin it was solid as a rock, and slept better than my bed at home.
This cot is sturdy, stable, and well-structured. A cot of this quality,
usually, costs twice the price offered at Amazon.com. I am extremely pleased
with my purchase, and highly recommend the Texsport Deluxe Folding Camp Cot. I was getting ready to go camping a few months after some serious back surgery, so I decided to purchase a cot. After reading the reviews, I purchased this Texsport Deluxe Folding Camp Cot. It is wonderful. Easy to assemble and disassemble. It fits nicely in the carrying bag which has a strong handle. Quite comfy for a cot. I liked it so much, I bought two more for my kids. When it rained while we were camping, we were all thankful to be up off the wet ground. Great product! I bought this as a temporary bed until I get moved and buy a new one. Add a couple of comforters folded up on top of it to lay on and it is quite comfortable. Otherwise a little hard. Seems sturdy but could be sturdier. Overall, it serves my needs well. The cot is very well built. It is hard to put together when your trying to get the final piece stretched by yourself. It also make squeaking sounds when you move around on it. I bought it because i wanted to camp with my family for 4th of July and am unable to sleep directly on the ground due to multiple back surgeries and hardware attached to my spine. The cot i had hoped would allow me to sleep and not wake up in total pain. I woke up pretty sore and really stiff but after moving around a bit most of it worked out. I recommend the cot for regular people who don't have back problems. I purchased this for our 8 year old to sleep during camping trips. The cot is easy to put together and is sturdy. Watch out for the plastic covers on the legs - they come off and we didn't notice it at first, so the metal leg on the cot ripped the floor of our brand new tent :( Giving it 3 stars, because the plastic covers should be more secure on the cot... I needed something to sleep on for a long music festival and was unconvinced that a sleeping pad--however much I paid for it--would afford me the same comfort as getting off the ground. So I bought a cot. THIS cot. And it was excellent! Very easy to set up and very comfortable. Glad I bought it and can see myself getting plenty of use out of it in the future. Plus, the price was right. I thought a $50 cot would be a real gamble, but it was sturdy and well-made. First off, I only purchased the Texsport Deluxe Folding Camp Cot about a month ago but I have already racked up four nights of sleep on it and I feel like that is enough to render a detailed opinion on the product, at least with regards to things other than longevity.

So the thing I noticed first about the cot was that it really does seem quite sturdy. I was originally torn between purchasing this cot and a different one from a local retailer that was listed for only like thirty bucks or so, but obviously ended up going with the Texsport. I knew within days of my purchase that I had made the right choice - I was out camping with a couple of friends and I brought my Texsport Cot while two of my friends brought their less expensive cots. As soon as we all unpacked the cots, I could tell that mine was of much greater quality than the ones my friends had brought. My cot was much heftier (in a good way - not bulky or unnecessarily heavy, just sturdy) than theirs and while I'm no expert on metals or welds or anything, it was clear that my cot was much stronger and would hold more weight than my friends cots. I know the listed weight limit of the cot is 250 lbs, but I weigh around 170, and I felt like the cot could have held another one of me and been fine.

The second majorly important thing for me with the cot was its length. I stand approx. 6'2" and I was worried about whether or not the cot would be long enough or if my feet and ankles would be totally hanging off. I am pleased to say that I fit on the cot just fine. Its listed length is 75" or 6'3" and I've had numerous experiences with other products from other companies that advertise certain lengths for stuff but that do not meet those stated #'s but that was not the case with Texsport. I was able to put a pillow at one end of the Cot and still fit my whole frame on the cot. I'm really glad I didn't purchase the oversized version of this cot as it worked fine for me, and I reckon would work great for anyone 6'2" and below, and still pretty decently for people 6'3" & 6'4".

Finally, the last thing I wanted to address was the overall comfort of the cot. While it's not quite as nice to sleep on as say an air-mattress (or a real mattress on a bed), I found it to be more comfy than all but the plushest, most padded, sleeping bags. My only minor complaint about the entire product is that if you tend to sleep on your side, like I do, that that position is not the most comfortable when using the cot. That's not a flaw of just this Texsport cot though, but really just a flaw of camping cots in general (unless maybe if you got an extra wide cot?) so I cannot mark the cot down for it. One other added benefit of the cot over say a plush, padded sleeping bag, or even an air mattress, is that a cot keeps you off the ground when you are sleeping. So when you go camping in hot climes, you aren't just lying on the ground and sweating because of the lack of airflow underneath you (also b/c the ground holds heat).

All in all, I totally recommend this cot for anyone who cannot sleep on sleeping bags or air mattresses either for health reasons or b/c the weather won't permit it (i.e. waaaay too hot) as it is very sturdy, long enough for the vast majority of people, and relatively comfy in comparison to other methods of sleeping that are typically available on camping trips. I bought the Earth Jamboree Cot 1st, then the Texaport. The Texasport is a far better cot & around $20 less! The other has bells & whistles of the side hanging pocket and pillow but what we care about is a good night's sleep. The Texsport is tight & quiet. The Military one creaks. Other than the Velcro pockets, they're pretty much the same except the Texsport is a lot tighter & more comfortable. Wish I'd bought the Texsport 1st, then I would've looked no further. Love this cot! It folds up to the size of a camp chair and has a carrier and I love that it doesn't take up a lot of cargo room. It's also really easy to assemble and is comfortable. Have slept on this for a few nights, is holding up nicely. I'm not a big guy, but noticed it can support two people sitting on it like a couch, so I imagine it can hold weight nicely. Pretty easy setup too. I bought this cot primarily because of the positive reviews that had already been posted when I was researching cots. So I ordered one. Extremely fast shipping even though I elected the "free shipping" option.

So I get the cot and set it up in the bedroom. Very easy to set up and the fabric was plenty tight. I slept on it. Very comfortable. My wife slept on it. Same reaction. She wanted one, so I bought another.

We took both cots with us last week for a 3 night camping trip. We are both quite sold. They are light, they are comfortable, and so easy to set up.

Of course, 3 nights is no long term test, but I am thinking that the steel legs coupled with the aluminum frame should spell durability.

I think the price/value equation for this product is extremely positive. I rolled the dice when I bought it. So far I am extremely pleased.
